SHIB Team Issues Urgent Scam Alert: “You’re One Step from Danger”

A key figure from the Shiba Inu (SHIB) project has issued a warning to its user base, urging caution as scams remain a constant threat in the digital asset space. The statement came from Lucie, SHIB’s marketing lead, who addressed the SHIB community via social media on April 11, 2025.

Lucie pointed to a growing concern that many users enter the space without fully understanding how to protect themselves. She stated that overreliance on others is often the first mistake. “If you’re waiting for someone to hold your hand in crypto, you’ve already exposed yourself to risk,” she warned.

Responsibility Is Essential in the Crypto Space

Lucie’s message focused on personal accountability. She made it clear that the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies places a strong responsibility on individual users to be informed and prepared.

“Nobody is obligated to explain everything to you—this isn’t a system built for constant guidance,” she said.

Her comment reflects a broader concern that many new users assume they will be protected by the community or project teams, which is rarely the case.

She added that the crypto space moves quickly and without warning, and mistakes can be costly. “If you’re not careful, you could lose everything in a moment—and no one is coming to fix it for you.”

    Encouraging Education and Integrity

In the same thread, Lucie emphasized the importance of self-education. She encouraged users to take initiative and learn the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the crypto world effectively. “Start from scratch if you have to, but make sure what you’re building doesn’t hurt others,” she said.

Her message was also directed at developers and influencers within the space. She urged them to focus on building tools that benefit users rather than creating systems that are hard to understand or intentionally misleading. “Design with intention, not manipulation,” Lucie said, addressing the responsibilities of those contributing to the ecosystem.

A Reminder of Crypto’s Original Purpose

Lucie also reflected on the original purpose behind blockchain and digital currencies. She said the community must not forget why these technologies were created.

We need people who remember that this started as a way to give people control—not take it from them,” she stated.

The warning extended beyond cautionary advice—it was also a call to keep the space accessible, fair, and based on core principles of ownership and freedom. She encouraged the community to lead with purpose and honesty.

Crypto as a Tool for Access

A day prior to the scam warning, Lucie also highlighted crypto’s potential to provide real value, especially to those outside traditional financial systems. “For many people, this is more than tech—it’s a path forward,” she said. She mentioned use cases like parents earning through digital platforms or creators in remote regions launching real products.

Her combined messages stressed that while crypto holds real opportunity, it also demands caution, independence, and transparency from all participants.
